If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. There is a flickr group for sharing right here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post. Thanks!
I love to use magazines in my art journals. Lots of journal artists do. I use magazines for inspiration, collage, stencils, foundation images, and so much more! My favorites magazines to use are Glamour, Vogue, and W. Here are two art journal pages that use magazine images as foundation images -- a technique that I'm teaching in my Mixed Media Circus: Art Journal Adventure class! Take a peek:
The right side of this spread is made up of painted doodles I simply couldn't bear to paint over.
I've been using markers a lot in my art journal and this spread is no exception.
Below you can see some homemade tape. As I was cleaning out my studio to move I found it and decided to stick it into my journal instead of packing it.
I love stashing photos in my art journal. This black and white photo strip is a great addition to this colorful page.
I hope you feel inspired to rip out a few magazine pages and glue them into your art journal!
