David Best's Hayes Valley Temple
December 10, 2015
While I was in San Francisco, I stumbled across an art installation in Hayes Valley.
You can read this press release all about it. Artist David Best was commissioned to recreate his Hayes Valley Temple. It's considered "living art" because viewers are invited to participate in the art by leaving messages on its wooden structure.
I have always loved sculpture. And a piece of sculpture that you can walk into, explore, sit on, and alter is really a treat! I enjoyed reading all the messages that people left. And for the record, I did scrawl a little something of my own before I left. :)
If you're interested in finding some public art near you, the Culture Now website has a cool interactive map that shows you where you can find public art in an area you live or are visiting! I hope you find something great wherever you are!
Thanks for stopping by!
