Art Foamies + Reindeer Head = Awesome

In the bargain area of Target I found a cardboard reindeer head that you punch out and assemble.  It came in four parts:

Anything blank like that cries out to be painted, right?!

So, Suzanne (my assistant) and I set out to cover up some of that blank cardboard with stamping!

We used Art Foamies and did it assembly-line-style:

It was tempting to want to cover the entire cardboard, but you only need to go over the edges of the pieces that are going to get punched out:

Because this was going to be put together into a 3-D piece, we decided to paint the backs of each piece with a bright color:

Suzanne had the clever idea to clear out each of the slots -- they're the key to putting the head together -- with a bamboo skewer.  This meant that we didn't get any paint interfering with putting the contraption together.

And here it is in all its fabulous glory!

The way the reindeer head is assembled, there are two tabs that keep it slightly away from the wall (or door in this case):

And so that you can get a sense of its petite scale, here's a photo of Suzanne with the finished reindeer head:

It's a fantastic addition to my office door!

I hope you'll find something to cover with paint and stamped images!

Thanks for stopping by!
