As 2016 draws to an end, it's time to look back at what a great year it was. To get the ball rolling, I thought I'd share my favorite tutorials that appeared on this blog in 2016. (Get ready to bookmark this page!) I chose them based on the following criteria: the technique or concept is cool the finished product made me happy the project is easy to complete the tutorial was genuinely instructional and not simply a demonstration Let's see if your favorite made the list! I hope that you are having as much fun carving stamps as I am! The thing that impresses me about #CarveDecember every year is that just when you think you're out of ideas, there are more! Just when you think you're out of time, there is enough time to carve a stamp! Here is what I've been up to: There's a video for this one. Watch it below: And you can see the video of the tag above coming together HERE. Watch the video of the printing of the tag above HERE. As always, here are ten stamps using the... Read more →

I've got three ScanNCut tutorial videos for you today! First up is a resource that you might not be aware of. The Brother CreativeCenter has tons of free projects for you to print and cut. The projects are intended for you to cut by hand, but as you'll see from this video, it's super easy to cut them with your ScanNCut using the Direct Cut Function: Aren't those tags super cute?! I know that Christmas has just passed us by, but there are still six nights of Hanukkah left and plenty of other holidays to come! Next up: a new... Read more →

How is it already December? Time is just flying by! I had so many creative plans for holiday projects and I just didn't manage to make the time to get them done. Even my holiday cards are only half done. Sigh. Nonetheless the house is full of Christmas and Hanukkah (I celebrate both) cheer along with the usual colorful art making and daily drudgery. ;) Take a peek: I made Christmas Crack for the first time and my waistline is unhappy, but my mouth is super happy. You can find the recipe in this week's vlog or with a simple... Read more →

I spent three happy days at Whim So Doodle in St. Petersburg, Florida, teaching four classes. (I will be back there in the Spring, btw. Exact dates and classes to be announced!) Grab a cup of coffee and take a peek at all the fun we had! First class was Gelli Print Party: The next day started with one of my favorite classes: 6x6. That evening we worked on Painted Paper Collages: And the whirlwind of art fun ended with Art Journal Playground! So much fun! Thank you to all of the wonderful ladies who came out to play! And... I don't know why. But somehow I forget how much fun carving stamps can be and then #CarveDecember comes along and reminds me! The daily pace really gets my creative juices flowing! Here are the stamps I carved on days 12-18: Watch a video of the tiny stamp above being printed HERE. On Wednesday I carved the bird you above. On Thursday I added some stamps that allowed me to "color in" the bird: Watch a video of this bird print coming together HERE. And then on Friday, I decided to make this bird the image for my holiday cards,... Read more →
