Adventures in Arting Podcast: Julie Loves Learning
February 16, 2017
I'm delighted to bring you another episode of the Adventures in Arting Podcast!
If you do not see the podcast player above, please click on this link. You can listen to a podcast anywhere and at any time. It is a recording that is available to you whenever you'd like to listen. If you'd like to download it to your iTunes library, click here. You can also pause and rewind or fast forward as you desire. I like to listen to podcasts while I'm making art. It's a little like hanging out with friends while you art.
Today's podcast features a conversation about learning in general and four particular learning experiences -- the marbling class I shared in yesterday's blog post, a lecture on Winslow Homer's Summer Night (see a bit in this vlog), the connoisseurship dinner at the Museum of Fine Arts (see a bit in this vlog) and then a quilting class I took last weekend (photos below):
Class started with our instructor, Timna Tarr, sharing some of her quilts:
After some brief instructions....
...we were off and running with our own improvisational piecing!
The picture above is the quilt top that I finished in class. Kind of a hot mess, but I'm letting it marinate.
I don't have a lot of photos because of the snow that day...
...most of the students left class early to get home before the roads got too bad. I was one of the few who stayed the whole day and at the end of the day, I took my little red wagon, and headed home!
