I was lucky enough to be in the New York City area for the opening of the Robert Rauschenberg: Among Friends exhibit at MoMA (Museum of Modern Art). It was epic (the entire 4th floor of the museum) and inspiring (so much good art and excellent signage) and I know that I will be back to visit the exhibit at least one or two more times! I'm sure that freezer paper is useful in the kitchen, but I love it in the craft room! Today I've got two freezer paper techniques for you. In case you don't know what freezer paper is, it's a "thick paper with a plastic or wax coating on one side. It differs from parchment, which has no coating, and wax paper, which has a coating on both sides." (from the kitchn blog). Continuing my way through this 100 Day Project of creating a face every single day in about 15 minutes. Here are my thoughts at the moment -- almost half way through: I have pretty much committed to creating my face first thing every morning. This commitment ensures that it's off my to do list right away and doesn't loom over me throughout the day. Even though this is a fun project, committing to an every day project requires discipline. The MFA (Museum of Fine Arts) in Boston is hosting, "the largest and most important display of Botticelli’s works in the United States." (from the MFA website) Apparently there hasn't really been a major exhibit of Botticelli's work in the USA. I've been lucky enough to visit the exhibit twice -- once wandering by myself and once on a curatorial tour. I'm not usually a huge fan of religious art, but I found this exhibit fascinating. The MFA (Museum of Fine Arts) recently hosted "Art in Bloom." It's an annual tradition, but this was my first experience with it. Essentially, there are 50 flower arrangements created to reflect --in some way -- a particular piece or collection of art. You can hear my Mom and I discuss the exhibit on our podcast. Take a peek: For me, some of them were spot on and some of them were just kind of "eh." Vases made a big difference.
