Big Print/Little Print

I am so thrilled to have had a piece of mine chosen for my first ever juried art exhibit!  It was a beautiful show with a wide variety of types and styles of prints.  Take a peek:

My piece is the black and white one on the right of the photo below. I was super duper over the moon when I saw the red dot, meaning that it had sold!  Yay!

The whole concept behind Big Print/Little Print was to share prints smaller than 12x12 and larger than 24x24.  I thought it was very effective.  And the exhibit opened up my brain to the definition of print.  Printing techniques represented in this exhibit include:

  • stamping
  • linocut
  • woodcut
  • engraving
  • monotype
  • gelatin print
  • lithograph
  • engraving
  • letterpress
  • silkscreen
  • screenprint
  • transfer
  • digital print
  • etching
  • collograph
  • and so much more!

The Mosesian Center for the Arts has a ton of different exhibits.  Most items are for sale and fairly reasonably priced.  It's a fun gallery to poke through -- and it's FREE to come and look.  I believe the current exhibit is called Reclaimed.  It's all about turning trash into art!

Thanks for stopping by!
