Nari Ward at the ICA
May 11, 2017
Mom and I recently went to the opening of the Nari Ward "Sun Splashed" exhibit at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) here in Boston. It was a great exhibit packed with fascinating ideas and important conversations. Take a peek:
During the opening we also slipped across the hall into the "New Acquisitions" exhibit. There were a number of pieces that I liked.
I couldn't take any photos inside the video installation described above. But, I lay on a bean bag chair and watched it for quite some time. It is fascinating to me how everything become interesting when you place it under focus. I suppose that's the theory behind reality TV?
Contemporary art isn't always easy or visually satisfying for me. But, I really really enjoyed this visit. If you've never been to the ICA, the building itself is magnificent with a killer view of the Boston harbor. Worth a visit. Also, their restaurant is pretty good. ;)
Thanks for stopping by!
