Hello out there! Here's a little bit about life right now: This is me right now: My current art obsession is: deColourant! Can't stop! Won't stop! My current life obsession is: pancakes. Can you drool through a screen? I don't know why? Perhaps it's the onset of fall? All I can think about is light and fluffy pancakes! I'm loving: This dress! I was super unsure about it because it's very body conscious, but I love the pattern and I felt like a million dollars in it! I'm hating: All the early mornings as of late. Ugh. I am not... I recently started following an artist on instagram named Jen Fox. I can't remember what winding road led me to her feed, but it was filled with pretty things, so I clicked "follow." She posts a lot of stuff about this product called deColourant. After seeing so many beautiful things made with deColourant, I knew I had to get some to try! (And I put her book, Transfer Embellish Stitch on my wish list.) I gave it a try. Watch the video to hear my reaction to the magical process! What is this witchcraft?! Let me break it down for... Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing photos from my travels through London and Spain. So much to share! So much art! So much architecture! So much I'm excited to share! Today I'm delighted to share one of the highlights of my trip to Spain. An unexpected surprise: a lovely chapel cemetery in Cadequés (pronounced Ca - duh - kesh). We walked up a hill in search of Dali's House and found a lovely little chapel instead. The chapel itself was very austere and simple. Though, I was struck by their very modern Jesus sculpture. It contrasted strongly with... Read more →

I recently attended the Opening Night Party for the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) Museum Council. Every guest was randomly assigned to a half hour tour with a curator. I have to be 100% honest and say that I groaned a bit when I found out that I was on the "Summer of Love" tour. It wasn't an exhibit that seemed particularly interesting to me. But...as always, when you get to meet a curator -- a person who is geeked out about the exhibit -- everything becomes interesting! It's a small exhibit -- mostly posters and album covers... ...along with... Read more →

I hope that you guys will join me for three classes at WhimSoDoodle October 13 - 15! This is one of those fabulous stores that always has the stuff you're looking for (and didn't know you were looking for). If you're thinking about coming in from out of town, do it! The Tampa airport is very close and there are lots of great places to stay in the area! My class, "Interesting Faces" was so loved and adored by students that WhimSoDoodle has asked me to teach it again! If you’ve ever been intimidated by drawing faces, don’t be! Come... Read more →

The folks at Tombow were kind enough to send me a set of their new MONO Drawing Pens and two sets of their TwinTONE Markers (one bright and one pastel). I tried the pens and markers out: On a manila tag. On deli paper. In my art journal. In my Bullet Journal. Watch the video to see my explorations: Have you tried these pens and markers out? What was your experience? Thanks for stopping by! Read more →

I've got three awesome ScanNCut technique videos for you today! First up: a technique you've been asking me about. How do you emboss and then cut? You can't cut on top of the squishy embossing mat, so how does that work? It's surprisingly easy with the built-in scanner in the ScanNCut. Watch the video for the how-to: How cool is that embossed and cut design?! I'm using metallic cardstock, which really shows off the embossing! Have you ever been confused by which file types the ScanNCut can cut? I made this handy dandy guide for you: You can learn more... Read more →
