Quilt Festival 2017: Part Three
January 09, 2018
Are you ready for more Quilt Festival photos?! Sooooo many more photos!
The Danny Amazonas exhibit blew me away! My photos do not do his quilts justice. They are exactly what I'm trying to figure out in my own stitched work -- what is the point where painting and quilting intersect? He paints with fabric and it is glorious!
Next up, quilts from Haiti. You can read more about Haiti PeaceQuilts HERE.
And now we've hit a bit of a miscellaneous patch (i.e. photos that don't belong to a particular exhibit that I could figure out when looking back at my photos). Enjoy:
The I Am an Artisan Challenge is next. This was the call for submissions: The challenge encourages quilters to showcase the harmony of color and texture so prevalent in the fabrics of Artisan through the creation of 60" x 60" quilt featuring 80% of the new Artisan by Kaffe Fassett fabrics. The jury, including Kaffe Fassett, will look to select 12 quilts for his juried exhibit at the 2017 Fall International Quilt Market and Festival in Houston, TX!
And finally, some Modern Quilts:
In case you're not familiar with Modern Quilting, you can read more about it here. I belong to my local Modern Quilt Guild. If you're interested in quilting, you should find your local guild!
If you can believe it, there are still several more posts of photos from Quilt Festival to come! Thanks for stopping by!
