Art Journal Every Day: Three Pages Without Journaling
March 09, 2018
If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek. Even if you're not on social media, you can see everything (from twitter, pinterest, instagram, and facebook) that uses that hashtag here.
I've got some daily art journal pages for you today: three pages without journaling. It's true that I tend to do a lot of journaling in my journal, but I do go through stretches where I'm more interested in arting than writing. And that's fine. The only kind of consistency I strive for in my art journal is to do a little bit every day, whatever that is. Let's take a peek at some of those pages:
This first page features two faces drawn with a black marker. I was planning to color them in, but then I decided that I liked this page just as it was.
One of my favorite parts about working on pages in fits and starts, instead of a single sitting, is that it gives me time to change my mind. I often find that I have a different view of things when I come back to a page later.
You can see the heart-shaped hole in the middle of the page.
The longer I journal, the more I find myself cutting up my pages so they curve and move and are full of holes!
I love the colors of this next page:
Recently, I've become obsessed with tarot and mystical images. It has pushed my eye obsession in a new direction, which is exciting!
I've been using this "Dramatic Floral" stencil (above) a lot lately.
This next page features a hand carved stamp you may remember....
Again, you can see that this is an irregular page. I just can't stop chopping up my art journal!!
Hope you do some art journaling this week! Thanks for stopping by!
