Hello, friends! Here's a little bit about life right now: What are you listening to? I am *obsessed* with a multi-part radio series from the 1930s called "The Airmail Mystery." I listen a podcast called The Great Detectives and they've been dripping out the episodes and I listen to them as soon as I see them download to my phone. I've always loved those old radio plays, but this one has me hooked. Hard core. What are you wearing? Oh, besides this dress I made? How about a super glam flower gown! What have you bought? A house. My first... Read more →

I have always wanted to learn how to sew my own clothes, however it always seemed so intimidating! But this story has a happy ending. You know that I listen to a lot of podcasts and I was trying out a new podcast when I heard Lindsey Rae chatting about her business: Sew to Grow and the class she teaches: Fit to Flatter. She lives in Australia, so I was mostly daydreaming about attending one of her classes while I was listening to the podcast and then she said it: I'm coming to America on a teaching tour. Yay! I... I've got another round-up of ScanNCut technique videos for you! Let me know if you have questions that I can answer for you! There are two kinds of type files built into your ScanNCut: lettering and fonts. What's the difference? Lettering consists of single cut files for each letter of the alphabet. You choose each letter separately. Fonts are an editable collection of letters and numbers. You type the word or phrase you want into a keyboard and they appear all together as a single cut file. Watch the video for more: If you know me, you know that I... Read more →

My step-sister recently earned her Masters from Stanford University and the graduation ceremony was this past weekend (you can see bits and pieces of it in this week's vlog). Of course, I *had* to make her a card to celebrate the occasion. It's actually a very simple card -- just a lot of fancy lettering. I used Moonlight pens to color it all in and a Pitt Brush Pen to add the shadow. The shadow is a key part of making the design pop! I had fun making the card. I think that she liked getting the card. Really, it's... Read more →

I love making handmade cards. In fact, any time I don't give someone in my family a handmade card, they yell at me. A handmade card is a lovely way to show how much you care about the recipient. Today I'm sharing two different cards that you can make with your ScanNCut! Your ScanNCut machine has lots of built-in quilt block designs. But what if you're not a sewer? No worries! Today's project is all about using those designs to create a paper quilt! Watch the video for the how-to: Here is the card from the video: In red and... Read more →

This weekend, I was looking through photos and I realized that I had forgotten to share photos from the Urban Sketch Weekend back in April! It was a great weekend filled with super talented women. Each and every one of them entered the room swearing up and down that they couldn't draw. And yet each and every one of them proved to themselves that they could! It was magical. Take a peek: We took a field trip to sketch at the Sheep Festival! (Of course, I was so enamored of the sheep that I forgot to take photos of most... Read more →

I'm super excited to share a new product featuring my designs: Artists Series Shrink Film for Grafix! Here's a video introduction that covers the basics: Each sheet of white shrink film has a design pre-printed on it in black and white. I designed four different sheets: You know that I'm obsessed with eyes! I just can't get enough of them! Eyes are perfect for adding to people: Isn't that cool?! Next: Art is my life and I figured there might be some other crafty people out there who felt the same way. Therefore, I created a sheet featuring my favorite... Read more →
