If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek. Even if you're not on social media, you can see everything (from twitter, pinterest, instagram, and facebook) that uses that hashtag here.
Today I am sharing some more art journal pages from February 2019. These pages are pretty much either all journaling or all art and that's okay. I don't try to force my art journal pages to be anything. They take shape based on what I'm interested in each day. For me, my art journal must be a place of freedom. There must be no rules for it to be fun and remain interesting to me.
This page is mostly journaling (sporadic though it may be) with some pretty paper scraps along the right edge.
The base of this spread is a page from a calendar that featured historical color wheels. As you can see, I placed the center of her face so that a major portion of the color wheel would still show in the finished artwork.
This flower was stenciled using a mask I cut on my ScanNCut. And actually, I think that this stencil totally influenced the background on this next page in my journal:
I used a regular pencil to draw the flowers and added some details with a white pen. I also used a light wash of black acrylic ink to create some definition in a few places.
So there you have it, a peek into my art journal. I hope you'll find some time to play in your art journal this weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!
