Hello, friends! Here's a little bit about life around here right now:
I am deep deep deep into projects for Make It Artsy. As you can imagine, because of the pandemic, very few guests are coming to the shoot at the end of July, so I have a bit more work to do than usual. I am planning projects involving stenciling, bookbinding, jewelry making, sewing, painting, and more! This is a fun segment from last season of the show, where I demonstrate my faux shibori technique:
The deli paper I use to clean up my gelatin plate between prints.
How is the baby?
He is thriving. He is at the top of all the growth charts. You can see that he's quite a bit bigger than his cousin, who is 7-weeks older.
Life with him continues to surprise, delight, and exhaust me. He is infinitely sweet and has the brightest smile. I'm excited for all that is yet to come with him.
Current art crush?
Gina McMillen is an illustrator and she posts hilarious zines about her life. They make me smile every single day. Check them out (the images are embedded from instagram -- if you can't see them, you need to click through to my actual blog post) and be sure to flip through all the inside pages of the zines:
She also has a post where she shows you how she folds her zines:
This one might be my favorite. Wait for the flip:
I love her sense of humor and can relate to so much of what she shares!
So, there you have it! That's the scoop on life around here at the moment. If you're a member, June's vlog is up in the online classroom! It's a "day-in-the-life" video. I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for stopping by!
