A Birthday Card for my Brother
August 26, 2020
I designed and made a birthday card for my Brother and I think it's pretty cool.
The "39" spins, as you can see in the .gif below:
If you're not a card maker, this is an idea that easily translates into your art journal. I have several art journal pages that have little spinners hanging out in a hole I've cut through the page!
I've always felt that one of the secrets to creative inspiration is to not necessarily be a literalist. (Is that a word?) Essentially: to see an idea or a color combo or a composition and be able to translate it into something that works for you.
I put the card in a vellum envelope, which I decorated with a tag that I cut his name out of:
The tag was painted and stamped with a hand carved stamp. And I even used the letters I cut out for the back of the envelope!
So now I'm going to ask you to not be a literalist: Can you think of a way that this little card and/or envelope could inspire some creativity that's all your own? Let me know! I'd love to hear your ideas!
Thanks for stopping by!
