#CarveDecember 2020: Days 21-27
From the Archives: I Fail More Often Than I Succeed

Around Here: December 2020

Hello, friends!

Christmas-wm
Here's a little bit about life around here right now:

What are you working on?

Every single day I record and edit videos for my "Year of Gelatin Printing" online course. It's an absolutely epic course.  Each month is packed with tons of videos and tons of content.  (19 videos in February alone.)  A highlight: I've finally mastered intentional printing with watercolor on the gelatin plate.

Instead of blobby marks, I can actually get lines and dashes and even spray-inked stenciled designs to print.  I'm so excited about it!  (And I'm so excited to share it with my students!)

What are you loving?

I watched this video last night and I just have to share it with you:

It brought a smile to my face and I hope it did the same for you!

How is the baby?

He is thirteen months old and all he wants to do is walk.  Walk, walk, walk, walk, walk.

From dawn (quite literally) to dusk (less literally) he walks inside and outside and even in the bathtub (nerve wracking).

Current art crush?

Alexandra Dvornikova aka drink_ink_tea on instagram.  Check her work out:

Unfortunately, she hasn't posted to this account since March.  However, she does have an illustration account which has been updated more recently.  I'm guessing that she doesn't have access to her print shop during the pandemic, or perhaps she's lost interest?  Her illustrations are also beautiful!

So, there you have it!  That's the scoop on life around here at the moment.  If you're a monthly member, December's personal vlog and studio vlog are both in online classroom!

Also, I wanted to mention that you still have time to get in on Early Bird Pricing for Creative JumpStart 2021.  It is currently $69.  The price will go up to $89 on January 1, 2021.  Creative JumpStart is an online workshop event designed to jumpstart your creativity. This is the TENTH year of CJS and Birgit, Nathalie, and I sat down to chat about the decade of CJS:

If you decide to sign up for class, please use THIS LINK as I'll get a small percentage of the sale.  Thank you!

Finally, I'm going to take a little personal time this week.  I'll have some blog posts for you from the archives for the rest of the week and the weekly newsletter will go out on Friday.  See you in 2021!

Thanks for stopping by!
