Art Journal Every Day: Some February 2020 Daily Pages
December 18, 2020
If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, the concept is simple: It's a commitment to take ten minutes each day to do something in your art journal. No need to finish anything or even like it. It's about making the time to nourish your creativity every day! If you have the time to flip through your phone, you have the time to Art Journal Every Day. If you'd like to share what you make, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek. You can find new Art Journal Every Day posts here on the blog most Fridays. The archives go back to the first Art Journal Every Day post in 2010.
Reading my journaling on these pages I was reminded of a world pre-lockdown. I was busy doing crazy things like, "taking the baby to the museum." It actually gave me great hope for post-Covid world where he can actually see and touch other little children. Some day!
In any case, here are some daily pages from February 2020:
The sort of plus sign shapes on this page were made using a thermofax screen.
I don't often pull out the thermofax screens (because I hate waiting for the ink to dry) but I always love the results!
This next page features stencils old and new:
The "Layered Bloom" stencil with it's layered flower is an oldie but goodie stencil. You may remember this video where I showed how the layering works:
And the second stencil is called "Old Circle Grate" and is from my most recent stencil release:
This final page features a weird and awkward face that is super overworked. C'est la vie. That's how it goes sometimes. I just turn the page and keep moving.
The left side of the page features some paper masks (the donut shapes) I couldn't throw away and a hand drawn mandala.
I also used both a black and a white grease pencil. One of my current favorite art tools!
I'm teaching my Friday Night Art Journaling: Let's Draw Faces class tonight. It sold out a while ago, but I have just posted new live online classes for Jan/Feb 2021. You can check them out HERE.
Thanks for stopping by!
