A Formula for Making Art Quickly
"A Year of Gelatin Printing: Found Objects" Begins on MONDAY!

Around Here: February 2021

Hello, friends! Here is a little bit about life around here right now:

What are you working on?

I am working on a tutorial for the paper birds I shared last week (using either a cut file or a PDF for hand cutting).

It takes about four times as long to make the tutorial as it does to make the project.  So hopefully I will have that finished by next week.

What are you loving?

Steve shoveled out a tiny snow maze for the baby in our driveway.  He loved it and so did I!

Of course, it's nothing compared to the world's largest snow maze in Manitoba:

Let's not tell the baby that he's getting the inferior version.  ;)

How is the baby?

Speaking of the baby (and it turns out I'm one of those annoying parents who *is* always speaking of the baby), he is 15 months old and sweet as can be.

I feel very lucky that (a) he gets to spend plenty of time with his Grandma and (b) he looooooves books!  If you have any art-related book recommendations for kids, let me know!  I'd love to build up his library.

Current art crush?

I recently started following art_by_hema and I'm loving the saturated journal pages she posts.  Here's a peek at some of her fabulous work:

I looked back at some of her earlier work before I started following her and it's different.  Not a different artist, but a different mood.  Take a peek:

It's fascinating to me to see the journey. She's only been posting regularly to instagram since 2020, so you can go through her whole art journey in a pretty short period of time.

So, there you have it!  That's the scoop on life around here at the moment.  If you're a monthly member, February's personal vlog and studio vlog are both in online classroom!

Thanks for stopping by!
