Your Creativity Coach: My 3 Best Tips for Organizing Art Supplies
My Pandemic Art Journal Begins: March into May 2020

100 Days of Art Botanical: Days 44 - 52

I read something last week that strongly resonated with me: "New goals don't deliver new results. New lifestyles do. And a lifestyle is a process, not an outcome. For this reason, your energy should go into building better habits, not chasing better results." - James Clear

I LOVE, love, love these mixed media collages.  They combine so many of the things I love to do: gelatin printing, stamping, stenciling, drawing, painting, collage, patterns, and art journaling.  But I don't think that I could have gotten to these without all of the years of working on each of those skills individually. I don't think that I could have gotten to these without the 100 Day Project forcing me to try new things.  I don't think I could have gotten to these without having put in the time to study design elements & principles and reflect on my own personal style.

It is, as James Clear says, by focusing on process that you get better results.

On Day 52 I stopped to make some botanical collage fodder:

The success of much of my artwork requires having all the little bits and bobs I need lying around.  If you're interested in learning more about my art making process, sign up for my live online two-part class: Art Parts: A Formula for Making Art Quickly & Easily.  You can read more details about class HERE.
