Art Journal Every Day: September 2020 into October 2020

AJEDHeader2020

If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, the concept is simple: It's a commitment to take ten minutes each day to do something in your art journal.  No need to finish anything or even like it.  It's about making the time to nourish your creativity every day!  If you have the time to flip through your phone, you have the time to Art Journal Every Day.  If you'd like to share what you make, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek.  You can find new Art Journal Every Day posts here on the blog most Fridays.  The archives go back to the first Art Journal Every Day post in 2010.

Let's take a stroll through my art journal pages from this time last year:

I went through a phase of exclusively drawing and stamping on book pages, as you can see from this collage:

I also went through a colored pencil phase, which you can see in this next spread:

I love that colored pencils easily write on top of acrylic paint and tend to be pretty opaque.

This next page features lots of little bits and pieces:

When I really love a bit of collage fodder, I just glue it into my journal "as is" so that I have it forever. (above)

This page features a little leaf shape that spins:

And here it is on the other side:

This is one of those pages that features collage fodder I love and can't bear to cover up:

I loooove all of that pattern on pattern.  If only I could be as free in my finished work as I am in my journal! (It's a goal I'm working towards.)

This week, I took photos of the rest of this journal, so hopefully you'll see more art journal pages on this blog very soon.  I just need to edit all the photos.

Thanks for stopping by!
