Book Club: Abstracts in Acrylic & Ink by Jodi Ohl

This month's Book Club selection was a suggestion by a viewer: Abstracts in Acrylic & Ink by Jodi Ohl.
And, as it turned out, I already owned the book but had never even opened it. This is the exact reason why I started Book Club. I'm tired of collecting books. I want to actually use them! Jodi was a guest on the Adventures in Arting Podcast back in 2015. She's super talented and I really love her work. During Book Club I chat a bit about why this book wasn't a great fit for me and how I learn, but how I still took a lot away from it:

"Julie, I have taken classes from you before, but this book club shows what a gifted teacher you are. You tie everything together, you bring a wealth of information to the subject, and you interact with the text in such an amazing way, to say nothing about encouraging the creativity and individuality in all of us. Going off to recommend this to my art group."
As I said before, even though the book wasn't a perfect fit for me, I still took away some great ideas and I'm very glad that I read it and tried out some of Jodi's techniques. I feel creatively refreshed by playing in her sandbox for a few days.
