Around Here: September 2023
September 28, 2023
September is definitely starting to feel like Fall. We had some scorchers at the beginning of the month, but the evenings are turning cool and we're enjoying the change of seasons...and welcoming Halloween with open arms.
Family News
The decorations are up. His costume has been ordered and hemmed. The pumpkin is carved.
Now we just have to wait a month for the trick-or-treaters to show up.
This month has felt very much back-to-school for me. I've been teaching a lot, with three in-person classes, a new online class, and a new live online class, plus all the usual membership tutorials for both ScanNCut Club and the three levels of art membership. As a result, everything is a little bit chaotic around here at the moment!
Notice the trash can being used as a side table too. I could have a twenty-foot-long table and still work in a teeny tiny space!
A Recommendation
I found a fun class on Skillshare called "Sketchbook Illustration: Draw a Personal, Colorful Travel Map" by Mike Lowery. (He has a number of super cool books for kids, including this one on dinosaurs.)
I enjoyed the content of the class and he has a wonderful dry sense of humor, which I also appreciate. If you're not a Skillshare member already, you can use THIS LINK to get 40% off of a one-year subscription.
So, that's the scoop on life around here at the moment. If you're a Monthly Member, both the September personal vlog and studio vlogs are up in the classroom.
Thanks for stopping by!
